LOUISE MAUDE HILL
1943-2019
Louise Maude Hill finally found eternal freedom from her many years of physical pain and suffering. She peacefully passed away from cancer on March 5, 2019 surrounded by her family whom she loved so completely and who loved her dearly in return.
Louise was born on August 4, 1943 in San Bernardino, California to Kenneth Nessen and Barbara Thomson. She was the oldest of 4 sisters. Raised in a U.S. Air Force family, she lived her early years in Germany, Taiwan, Alaska, and Hawaii. She graduated from Radford High School in Honolulu, Hawaii and subsequently attended BYU-Hawaii for two years. She married Robert Allen Hill in the Laie, Hawaii Temple on September 5, 1964. They left the next day for Utah so Robert could resume his college education at Brigham Young University. During this time, she worked for a finance company, the Newspaper Agency and an insurance company to help with the family finances. After losing their 5 month old son, Robert, Jr. in 1966 from an automobile accident which nearly took her life as well, she remained a home and was blessed to raise and nurture 3 more children.
Louise was an exceptional woman and acquired many talents. She became skilled in cake decorating, chocolate molding, doll collecting, macramé, ceramics, crocheting, sewing, spray paint art, embroidery, quilting, punch needlework, card designing and jewelry making. In addition to all these achievements, she also started a candy making business and even passed the Hunter Safety training course. Louise served as a service missionary for 8 years at the General Young Woman’s Resource Center and also served in many other church positions. She simply enjoyed people of all beliefs and cultures and constantly looked for the lonely individual who needed friendship. She was a gentle woman. She was a woman without guile. She was a woman of charity like Jesus Christ.
She will be laid to rest in the Bountiful City Cemetery content to be near her son Robert Jr., which unlikely location was her dream and was divinely fulfilled.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. Bountiful, UT. where family and friends may visit Friday , March 8th from 6-8 pm and Sat. from 12:30-1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
