Louise P. Parkin
SOUTH OGDEN – Louise Pearl O’Brien Parkin returned to the arms of her loving husband Stanley Karl Parkin on Sunday, January 17, 2010. She passed from this life peacefully surrounded by many of her children and grandchildren. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She lived a long and exemplary life in the service of others.
She was born November 12, 1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of Edward Henry and Lula Pearl McIntire O’Brien.
Louise married her sweetheart, Stanley, on September 11, 1935 in the Logan LDS Temple. Stanley preceded her in death on October 21, 2002.
She was a compassionate nurse for many years, which she loved dearly, that included 16 years at McKay-Dee Hospital.
Louise was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her church service included Ward and Stake Young Women’s President and numerous Relief Society positions. She had a love for the Lord and showed it throughout her life.
Surviving are two daughters, Karlene (Hendrik) Bakker, Ogden; Cindy (Robert) Law, West Haven; six sons, David (Carol) Parkin, Layton; Duane (Guiomar) Parkin, Colorado; Derral (Irma) Parkin, Texas; Edward Parkin, California; Dan Parkin, Layton; Randy (Lori) Parkin, Ogden; 54 grandchildren, 87 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Edith Beazer. She left a total posterity of 222.
Her husband Stanley, two sisters, three brothers and a granddaughter Rachelle preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 23 at 11 at the Burch Creek Stake Center, 4955 Adams Avenue, South Ogden.
Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday at the Stake Center 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery.
