Louise Reynalda Salazar

April 16, 1966 — November 24, 2024

Louise Reynalda “Weezy” Salazar, age 58, passed away peacefully at Ogden Regional Medical Center on Sunday morning, November 24, 2024, with her family by her side. Her passing followed her courageous battle from the results of a traumatic brain injury she sustained.

Born April 16, 1966, in Ogden, she was the daughter of Nicolas “Nick” Higinio and Margaret Evangelina “Angie” Medina Salazar.

She had two beautiful girls, Evangelina Salazar and Monica Montez, who were her pride and joy.

A graduate of St. Joseph High School in Ogden, Class of 1984, Louise later attended Steven Henager College. She later received her CNS Certificate from College of Southern Idaho’s Mini-Cassia Center in Burley in October of 2019.

Louise did work as a traveling CNA with Comfort Keepers. She also worked at the Ogden Library for over 14 years, as well as for the Weber Health Department.

Louise had married Ralph Montez in the summer of 1993 in Ogden. They later separated, but never divorced. Ralph passed away in California in June of 2021.

She raised her two daughters, Evangelina and Monica, with the love and support of her large extended family. She loved to camp with them, go for drives through the mountains, and be with her family in mother nature. Whether sunbathing, visiting the monastery, putting together family BBQ gatherings, or playing cards or darts, Louise was the party.

Her infectious smile would light up a room. She was very loving to everyone and wore her heart on her sleeve. Louise was full of life and had a glow about her. Her hugs were the best. She was also a little “crazy.” She loved Kid Rock and especially being with her grandchildren.

Louise was a life member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ogden.

Louise is survived by her children, Evangelina P. Salazar and Monica L. Montez, both of Ogden; seven grandchildren, Isaiah A. Gonzales, Daniel M. Salazar, Trinity R. Salazar, Serenity A. Salazar, Aleystia T. Lemus, Khalessi E. Lemus, and Kingston A. Montez; her brothers, Nicholas (Theresa Lee) Salazar, Lincoln City, OR; Ross Salazar, Ogden; and Edward (Melanie) Salazar, also of Ogden; her sister, Lorrie; and by her many nieces and nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, many aunts and uncles, and by her good friends, Ron and Henry.
