Loyd Elbert Mills

November 11, 1924 – December 9, 2017

Loyd Elbert Mills, 93, passed away December 9, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born November 11, 1924 in Webster City, Iowa to Bernard and Elizabeth Williams Mills.  He married June Bill on June 23, 1949 in Clearfield, Utah.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He was an active member of the LDS Church.  He was involved in the scouting program for many years. Loyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and other outdoor activities.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends at his cabin and working with his donkeys.

Loyd was precede in death by his parents, four brothers, four sisters, his wife June and daughter Sherrie.  He is survived by son-in-law Ray Rhoades, Tremonton, Larry (Nancy) Mills, Syracuse; Roger (Natalie) Mills, Hooper; Eugene (Kathey) Mills, Clinton and Mary (Mark) Carver, Syracuse. Siblings Lila Johanson and Mary (Lamond) Frost, sister-in-law Mary Mills.  He has 19 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday December 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. Miller Springs LDS Ward 2500 S. Bluff Rd, Syracuse, Utah.  Friends may visit with family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd, Layton and on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
