Luana Ada Field Peterson

Luana Ada Field Peterson rejoined her beloved husband on December 26, 2018. She passed away at her home, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born, the second of three children, on July 18, 1929, in Ogden, UT, to Clyde W. and Bernice Harding Field. When Luana was seven years old, her mother passed away and she has looked forward her whole life to meeting her mother again.
Luana graduated from Ogden High School, Weber State College, and from BYU with a BA in Education.
At BYU she met the love of her life, Roald Emerson Peterson (Pete), and they were married on June 25, 1952. Together they reared six children, lived many places across the United States, and eventually settled in West Point, UT, in 1966.
Luana was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities including chorister, librarian, teacher, and family history. She served at the Humanitarian Center in SLC where she sewed countless quilts and crocheted hundreds of leper bandages. In 1997-1998, she and Pete served a church mission in Malaysia and Pakistan. A woman of many interests and talents, she served as a school teacher, PTA President, and was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
She followed college sports and was an avid reader and lifelong learner. She was known for her sense of humor, her wisdom, and the vast amount of knowledge she had acquired throughout her life.
Luana is survived by her children: Roald (Nola) Peterson Jr., West Point, Heidi (Steve) Rock, Highland, Kathy (Mike) Mock, Highland, Dawn (Randall) Wright, Highland, Erin Jensen, Marysvale, Mignon (Ken) Probst, Charleston, her sisters Lolita McFarlane, and Rosalie (Darrel) Hall. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 66 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 51 years, her son-in-law, Clifford Jensen and her brother-in-law, James McFarlane.
Funeral services will be held Jan. 5 at 11 am at the West Point 5th Ward, 3488 W. 300 N., West Point, UT. Friends may visit the family Friday, Jan. 4 from 6 to 8 pm at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 W. 5600 S., Roy, UT, and Saturday Jan. 5 from 9:30-10:30 at the West Point 5th Ward.
