LuAnn Knighton

1935-2020

LuAnn Knighton passed away February 6, 2020 at her home in Centerville, Utah, in the loving care of her husband and family.  She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, March 8, 1935 to parents Phyllis (Marsden) and Leonard Stark.  LuAnn married her true love of more than 70 years, Floyd Kaye Knighton, on March 16, 1951.

During the early years of their marriage, LuAnn and Kaye relocated for a short time to Clovis, New Mexico while Kaye served in the Air Force.  There, they welcomed their first child Kenneth.  They returned to Utah where they have resided ever since, building their beautiful family of seven more children and generations of grandchildren.  They have lived in Farmington, Rose Park, Bountiful, Salt Lake City, and currently Centerville.

LuAnn loved to travel and for several years took trips to Mazatlán, Mexico.  She and Kaye would also take countless vacations to the west coast, Yellowstone, and other western parks and destinations.  Two of her favorite spots were Bear Lake and Kamas, Utah.   LuAnn enjoyed camping, fishing, and boating; but spending quality time surrounded by her family and friends is what she treasured most.

LuAnn is survived by her husband Kaye; sons: Kenny (Shirley), Bryan (Darla), Ryan (Shawna), Donald and Karl Knighton; daughter Kathy (Doug) Gardner; 34 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; brother, Larry Leonard (Debra) Stark; sisters: Jeanette Bell, Mardell (Nolan) Curtis, Debbie (Robert) Stephens; and brother-in-law, Dave Andersen.   She was preceded in death by her parents Phyllis & Leonard, daughter Laura Knighton, son Joseph Knighton, and her little sister Linda Andersen (Pee-Wee) .

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday February 13, 2020 at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. Bountiful, Utah where friends may visit with the family on Wednesday evening  from 6-8 p.m. and from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services.  Interment will follow at Bountiful City Cemetery.  Condolences may be shared at www.linquistmortuary.com.
