Lucille M. Butler
KAYSVILLE – Lucille Makin Butler, 87, died Saturday, May 9, 2009 of causes incident to advanced age. As a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be remembered for her love of life, family, church and friends and missed by those who loved her both in body and in spirit.
She was born February 6, 1922 in Lehi, Utah; the daughter of John William Makin Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Woffinden. She married Christopher Franklin (Frank) Butler on October 22, 1943 in Chico, California and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She graduated from South High School. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in many callings as a primary teacher, young women’s instructor and visiting teacher. She was a member of the Daughter’s of the Utah Pioneers.
She is survived by her children, David Butler, Layton, Utah; Ron Butler, Kennewick, Washington; Dan Butler, Columbia, Tennessee; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville Rock Chapel, 25 South 200 East with Brother Matthew Nance of the Kaysville 8th Ward, officiating. Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
