Lucille J. Ricker
LAYTON a" Lucille J. Ricker, 76, passed away Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Davis Hospital and Medical Center, Layton, Utah, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Lucille was born February 23, 1934, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the oldest child of six children, to Lucille Maine and Raymond Reisewitz.
Lucille married Donald R. Trent on November 7, 1953 in Glen Alum, West Virginia. They later divorced. Lucille Married Keith H. Ricker on December 5, 1969 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple.
Lucille retired from Hill Air Force Base, after 20 years of work in Civil Service.
She was an active member of the LDS Church and served as ward organist/pianist in many of the branches and wards in which she lived during her lifetime, and she also served in many other roles in the church including the Young Women and Relief Society.
Lucille loved working in her yard gardening and growing roses, and was an excellent seamstress her entire life. She enjoyed creating ceramics, and crocheting many lovely blankets for her family and grandchildren. Lucky was the grandchild who received a crochet doll, baby blanket, afghan. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the bright and warm sunshine in her life, and as a result, she became an expert with her camera. Lucille loved her dogs, Shadow (devil dog), Junie and Princess.
Surviving are two sons, Timothy Trent, Orem, Utah; Mark (Mary) Trent, St. George, Utah; one daughter, Connie (Scott) Snider, Springville, Utah; her 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one brother, Gerald Reisewitz, Minneapolis, MN; two sisters, Shirley Wallace, Boulder, CO; and Janice (Bob) Anderson, Anoka, MN. She is also survived by one step-daughter, Shirley (Larry) Fixmer, Sandy, UT; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 12:45 to1:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
