OGDEN- LuJean Ozmun Bouwhuis beloved wife and mother, loving, caring grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend returned to her Father-in-Heaven peacefully on Monday, August 13, 2007.

LuJean was born May 5, 1929 to Elton Edgar and Velma Leishman Ozmun in Wellsville, Utah. She grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School in 1947. As a teenager she loved working at the Orpheum Theater in Ogden and the fun she had and friends she made while there.

She married John Christian Bouwhuis on June 11, 1948 in Ogden, Utah. While raising their three children she also supported the family plumbing business as bookkeeper and office manager for over 30 years.

She was an active and lifelong member of the LDS faith where she served in many callings.

She was involved as a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and also served in the PTA during her children''s school years. She loved bowling and all the friendships that she made during that time. LuJean enjoyed summer camping trips with her family and their friends while the children were growing up. She also loved working out in the yard and taking care of her beautiful flowers and garden. She was very talented with needlework and many people were the recipients of her beautiful handiwork. LuJean was a great fan of the Utah Jazz and she and John loved watching their games on the television. One of her greatest joys in life was her family and the times they could all be together.

LuJean is survived by her husband John of 59 years, and her children, Mike (Shirley) Bouwhuis, Layton; Julie (Brent) Maylin, Clinton; and Amy (John) Gibson, Taylor; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters and a sister-in-law, LaVoie (Ivan) Quist, Huntsville; Sherral (Steve) Thurgood, Hooper; and Beverly (Duane) Ozmun, Harrisville.

She was preceded in death by her parents Elton and Velma Ozmun, her brother E. Duane Ozmun, and a grandson Micah B. Bouwhuis.

LuJean was a loving, generous, and kind person who will be greatly missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, family, and all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held Saturday August 18, 2007 at 11:00 at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday, August 17, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 10 to 10:45 a.m.
