Luther B Hill

Luther B. Hill, 87, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. He was born on February 22, 1936 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, the son of James Milton and Viola Odom Hill.

In 1973, he moved to Sunset, Utah where he lived for 30 years, and later moved to Ogden, Utah, for the last 15 years.

Luther married the love of his life, Jeantte Owens, on December 1, 1960 and they spent almost 40 years together before her passing in 2000.

He worked as a carpenter for many years.  He loved old cars, especially mustangs. Luther also loved fishing, motorcycles, and collecting hot wheels. He especially loved spending time with his grandson, Nick.

Luther is survived by his sons, Milton Hill of West Jordan and Gary Hill of Copperas Cove, Texas; grandchildren, Nick Hill of Ogden; Emily and Sara Hill of Farmington, Wayne and Alex Hill of Copperas Cove, Texas, and Jeanette Hill of Copperas Cove, Texas; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by the light of his life, Jeanette Hill; his parents; his two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
