Luz E. Arteaga

August 13, 1964 ~ February 14, 2018

Luz E. Arteaga, passed away comfortably and peacefully on February 14, 2018 at Legacy House of Ogden, surrounded by her family at the age of 53.

Luz was born in Tlatenango, Zacatecas, Mexico and moved to the United States in 1977. She attended Clearfield High School and graduated in 1985.

Luz was adventurous and enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and Mexico visiting family. Despite being born with a congenital heart issue, Luz thrived and lived life to the fullest. She treasured her cousins and spent many adventurous nights out dancing and laughing. Her family meant the world to her and she relished the small things like gathering to eat, going to parties, or watching scary movies. Luz’s unwavering faith fostered a very close relationship with God. She had a special place in her heart for Saint Rose of Lima church, where she built life-long friendships. Luz found joy in care-giving and was adored for her selflessness.

She tenderly helped raise her brothers and served her extended family by watching her nieces and nephews, and then her great nieces and nephews. She was full of love and light, and her example will live on in the lives she has blessed. Luz’s laughter and smile were contagious. She was blessed with a bold personality and was a strong presence in any room. She was never afraid to be herself and always reached out to make new friends and lift those around her. Her unique sense of fashion and accessorizing exemplified her free spirit. Matching scarves, hats, and flashy jewelry were always a must. Luz found beauty in all things and valiantly battled through every obstacle. She will always be remembered for her courage, strength, kindness, and boundless love.

Luz will be forever remembered by loving her father Bernabe (Yolanda) Arteaga Correa, siblings Evangelina (Antonio) Solis, Leo (Rhonda)Arteaga, Bernie (Ana) Arteaga, Claudio Arteaga (Jamie Frampton), Saul Arteaga (Falelua Lealaitafea), nieces and nephews Antonio (TJ), Jaime, Carlos, Linda Ceneca Solis, Mykal, Aaron, Aissa, Aidan Arteaga, Michelle Mendoza, Aiken, Mila, Kage, Kord Arteaga, Lorenzo, Fa'afili Lealaitafea. Luz will also be forever remembered by numerous extended family and friends.
