Lydia Bernice Sorensen Stevenson

LAYTON a€" Lydia Bernice Sorensen Stevenson, 82, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2007.

She was born October 3, 1925 in Montpelier, Idaho the daughter of Clarence Ruben and Jennie Pearce Sorensen.

Lydia, who went by Bernice, graduated from Davis High School in 1943. After high school, she went to work at the Pentagon during World War II and later Hill Airforce Base in Clearfield for 28 years.

L. Bernice married J Ward Stevenson on August 4, 1945 in Richmond, CA. He preceded her in death on August 21, 1972.

She was a member of the Federal Women''s Club and the Layton Kimball Ward.

Surviving are two sons, Brent (Vicky) Stevenson of Layton, Kirk Stevenson of West Warren; six daughters, Judith (Pat) Jones of Layton, Joyce Stevenson of Layton, Janyce (James) O''Neill of Riverside, CA, Jeri (Mike) Dufresne of Clearfield, Jill (Lyn) Waterbury of Layton, Jacque Fergeson of Layton; 20 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rodney (Norma) Sorensen of Bountiful, Frank (Cheryl) Sorensen of Farmington; three sisters, Norma Vance of Rawlings, WY, Beverly (Bill) Stenberg of Los Banos, CA and Ann Marie Moss of Salt Lake City, UT.

Preceded in death by her husband J Ward, daughter Jeanne Logan, son Scott Stevenson, parents, one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 19, 2007 at 11am at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Sunday from 6 to 8pm and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30am at the mortuary.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
