Lyla Lee Kent Douglas, was born in El Paso, TX on April 4, 1929 to Gayle Coleman Kent and Theodosia Miranda Ardoin Kent. Lyla graduated from Austin High School then went on to attend El Paso College of Mines, now UTEP where she was on the Golddiggers dance team.

She left college to marry Robert Aubrey Douglas, Jr. and joined him in his 23 years of Army life, they divorced in 1975.

Lyla loved to travel and continued her travels after retiring from El Paso National Back, now Chase, with friends. She loved her family and spending time with them were her favorite times.

She loved her God. Her sense of humor and wanting to help others will be things she will be remembered for.

Lyla is survived by her two children, Robert A. Douglas III (Betty) of Tucson, AZ and Susan Douglas Good (Mike) of Roy, UT. She has six grandchildren, Jessica Good, Christopher (Ashlee) Good, Heather (Carson) Normington, Jean (Kyle) Porter, Megan (Brian) Faulkner, and Aubrey (Kevin) McCoy and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 16, 2020 at 10 a.m. at the Alpine Church, 4433 South 3100 West, Roy, UT. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary.
