Lyle C. Squire passed away peacefully after a long illness, surrounded by family, on January 7, 2015 in Ogden, Utah. He was born on April 4, 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Calvin and Ada Inez (Lemmon) Squire.
Lyle married Alene Renee Jackson on November 21, 1959 in Salt Lake City, Utah and together they had four children, Kent Squire, KayLynn (Jerry) Todd, Brenda (Gary) Fraga, and Heidi Wilhelm (Dan) Young. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he enjoyed serving as a temple worker, executive secretary, and many other callings. Lyle spent 45 years in the Scouting program, receiving Silver Beaver and Wood Badge, and he enjoyed camping and playing Santa Claus. He was employed for 27 years at H.A.F.B.
Lyle is survived by his loving wife, his children, 20 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, brother Deloy (Judy) Squire, and sister Beverly Allred. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the LDS Green Leaf Ward, 2160 W. Gordon Ave., Layton. Friends may visit family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. and on Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church, prior to the service.
Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton.
