Lyman James Arbon
KAYSVILLE a" Lyman James Arbon, 93, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Willow Glen Care Center.
He was born September 1, 1917 in Snowville, Utah the son of John Arnold and Mary Ann May Arbon.
He graduated from Bear River High School and attended Weber State and the University of Utah.
Lyman married Rhea Ruby Staples on December 17, 1938 in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple.
He was a member of the LDS Church and served as a counselor in the bishopric and other various organizations. Lyman enjoyed working very extensively with the youth.
Lyman worked for the OURD Railroad for 40 plus years.
Lyman and his wife enjoyed spending time in St. George. He liked hunting, golfing, camping, dancing and wild horseback riding. Lyman had many friends and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his son James L. (Betty) Arbon, Kaysville; daughter, Ilene (Stephen) Gibbons, Syracuse; 10 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his wife, parents, four sisters, three brothers, grandson, Bret Arbon and great-grandson, Eric Mercer.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Wednesday from 12:45 to 1:45 at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
