Lyn (Lynette) Nicholas Chapman Templeton passed away peacefully on Friday, May 14, 2010 in Ogden, Utah after a long illness. She was surrounded by her loving family and many friends.

Lyn was born June 18, 1944 in Ogden, Utah the daughter of John L. and Nada Nicholas of Sunset, Utah. She graduated from Davis High in 1962 and attended Utah State University.

During her life, she made many friends through her employment at New York Life and TRW. In addition, she had the great accomplishment of being a foster mother to over 150 teenage girls. She also over saw the decorating of the traditional family tree at the "Festival of Trees" for over 20 years.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Clinton 6th and 14th Ward for many years where she served in many callings. She enjoyed her friendships with the Tremonton 10th Ward "empty nesters". She later enjoyed the associations she made at Peachtree Place in West Haven and Manor Care in Ogden, where she was loved by residents and staff alike. Her family appreciates the care she received from both.

Lyn married Paul Chapman on March 10, 1968 in Sunset, Utah. They later divorced. She married Tommy Templeton in Sunset, Utah. They were divorced.

She is survived by her daughters, Trudi Chapman (Denton) Hatch, Brittany Chapman (Frank, deceased) Miller, son-in-law, Stan Prestwich, and her parents, John and Nada. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jayci, Jake, Shanade, Kaleb and Bailey Hatch, Jace and Ashtin Miller, and Sophia and Spencer Prestwich, her sisters, Kathy Larsen, Sharee (Randy) Kapp, and brother, John M. (Eileen) Nicholas, brother-in-law, Dan Choate, sister-in-law, Janet Hammond and many nieces, nephews aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Summer Prestwich and two sisters, her twin, Jeanette Hammond, Patti Choate, brother-in-law, Rick Hammond, and one niece, Jill Brown Graves.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 19th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

The family will meet friends for a visitation on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9: 45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
