Lynn C Durrant

September 19, 1947 — August 31, 2023

Lynn C Durrant, 75, a resident of Fernley, NV, and formerly of Ogden, passed away on August 31, 2023 in Carson City, Nevada.

 

The eleventh of sixteen children, Lynn was the second of a set of twins, all born to Robert Leslie and Irene Esther Colledge Durrant. Born, raised, and schooled in Ogden, he graduated from Bonneville High School Class of 1965.

 

He was drafted into the United States Army in November of 1966 and served honorably for three years, being discharged as a Specialist 5 in November of 1969 after his tour in Vietnam.

 

Lynn worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad for over 30 years as a signal maintainer based out of Winnemucca, NV. Before retiring from the railroad he received several awards for his work with Southern Pacific.

 

He was married to Carma Duval and they had two children, Tracy and Brian. They later divorced.

 

He married Jenae Dodge and they had two sons, Richie and Jeffrey. They later divorced.

 

Lynn enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an all-around outdoorsman. He enjoyed golfing and had two holes in one.

 

He will be remembered for being a straight shooter. He always called it like it was and was concerned with continual improvement.

 

He will be dearly missed by those who loved and knew him best.

 

Lynn is survived by his sons, Tracy E. Durrant and Brian (Jennifer) Durrant both of Ogden; siblings, Jim (Jackie) Durrant, Salt Lake City; Scott (Lois) Durrant, Roy; Kathy (Bill) Jenkins, La Mirada, California; Lynnette (Jeff) Tams, Hyrum; Peggy Durrant, Billings, MT; Mary Egbert, Ogden; Ken (Ann) Durrant, South Weber; and Joe (Kay) Durrant, Willard; sister-in-law, Tori Durrant; by three grandchildren; and two\ great-grandson; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery; parents and seven of his siblings, Dorothy Higley, Barbara Drainey, June King, Norma Burton, Tessie Ashton, Stan Durrant and Jay Durrant.

 

A memorial celebration of life following military honors will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Union Station Annex for family and friends.
