Lynn Dell Kraaima, 52, passed away on his birthday May 25, 2010 at his home in Roy, Utah in the arms of his eternal companion and surrounded by his family after a short battle with complications of OTC Deficiency.
He was born to John Dell Kraaima and Diane Bourne Kraaima on May 25, 1958 in Ogden, Utah and grew up in Washington Terrace with his three brothers. He graduated from Bonneville High School in 1976 and served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to the Florida, Tallahassee Mission from 1978-1980.
In 1984, he married Tarina Chase in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had two children, Chase Steven and Heather Lynn. The marriage later ended in divorce.
In 2006, he met his best friend and eternal companion, Tina Marie Dupre'' and they were married in the Jordan River LDS Temple on July 20, 2007. With this marriage, Lynn inherited five more children and six (eventually eight) grandchildren who adored him. He was well known for his "Grandpa''s Amazing Fridge". He was also known as "The Otter Pop Man" among the neighborhood kids.
He was a devoted employee of Weber State University for 29 years where he worked in a variety of settings, ending with his present position as Facilities Coordinator of Student Affairs. This would have been his 30th year "lighting up the W" for Homecoming Week. He was also a Licensed Electrician.
Lynn loved his Heavenly Father, Tina and their family, and golf. He was very enthusiastic about Family History and spent much of the last year doing Temple Work for departed ancestors. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in many positions including Executive Secretary, Elder''s Quorum President, High Priests Group Leadership, Stake High Council, and most recently as First Counselor in the Bishopric. Lynn is survived by his wife Tina, his two children Chase Steven and Heather Lynn, five stepchildren Tara and Dan Larsen, Niki and Lynn Monson, Lyman Winn, Spencer and Tara Winn, and Sterling Winn, and eight (soon to be ten) grandchildren. He is also survived by his parents Dell and Diane Kraaima, his two brothers, Roger and Jan Kraaima and Neil and Haley Kraaima, and six nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his younger brother Keith.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 28th at 2 p.m. at the Roy South Stake Center, 5725 South 3700 West.
A viewing will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Friday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the church.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
