Lynn Schreiner Stringham

Lynn Schreiner Stringham, 85, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born February 21, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a son of Dell Briant and Hildegard Schreiner Stringham. He was raised and educated in Salt Lake City, and graduated from Ogden High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Occupation of Germany after WWII.

On August 20, 1954, Lynn married Helen Luana Bate in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death August 17, 2004. He married Sharon Walker on February 14, 2007 and their marriage was solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple on November 25, 2008.

He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he held the office of High Priest, was a member of the Seventies, home teacher, Scout Master, Stake Clerk and many other callings.

Lynn received his Electrical License in Ogden. He worked at American Can Company and the Ogden LDS Temple. He also worked as a Police Officer for North Ogden City and as a diesel mechanic.

He was a volunteer for the Weber County Jeep Patrol Search and Rescue.

He enjoyed camping, hunting and four wheeling. He was an avid gun collector.

Lynn is survived by his wife, Sharon, Huntsville; his children, Chris Stringham, Willard; Joyce (Danny) Day, West Haven; Carol (Blair) Nelson, Farr West; Lynda (Randy) Kummer, Chandler, AZ; Helen (Farley) Anderson, Paradise; LeiLani (Casey) Gauchat, Huntsville; Laura (Burke) Shupe, Pleasant View; Patti (Duane) Done, North Ogden; step-children, Terry (Karen) Van Ausdal, Huntsville; Thomas “T.J.” (Jolene) Van Ausdal, Cedar City; Tammy (Bret) Empey, Logandale; Tracy Walker, Shelton WA; 30 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 16 step-grandchildren, 7 step-great-grandchildren; one brother and one sister.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Luana, two brothers and one grandson.

The family would like to give thanks to McKay Hospice with a special thanks to Julie, Launi and Misty.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. The family will meet with friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
