Lynne Rich
January 19, 1933 ~ October 6, 2015.
Lynne Rich was a faithful and beloved mother, grand-mother and great-grandmother, and a sweet and sensitive care-giver and friend.
She is the daughter of Dr. Junior Edward Rich and Sarah Blanche Browning.
Lynne graduated from Ogden High School, studied at Utah State University, and University of Utah, earning a B.S. degree in Home Economics in 1956. She married Robert Eugene Lichfield (deceased) of Ogden Utah, September 10, 1954, in the Salt Lake City Temple, and divorced in 1984.
Lynne and Robert spent time in Texas, stationed with the Air Force, then back to Ogden,in 1957, at the birth of their first child, Aaron. With Aaron, Kathryn and Emily in tow, Lynne and Robert then moved to Menlo Park, California in 1964, where she had her last two children, Sara and Diana, and made life-long friends, raising her family in California, for 12 years. She moved back to Ogden, to be with her mother after her father's death, in 1976, and stayed until 1994, when she moved with Diana, to Logan and then, North Logan, Utah. In 2007, she moved to Point Loma, in San Diego, California, seeking a warmer climate for herself and Diana, which she enjoyed until her passing; making annual summer visits to Bear Lake, in Fish Haven, Idaho; never missing a year.
She was a devoted lifelong companion and daily caregiver for her daughter, Diana, from the early 1990's, until Diana's recent death in January of 2015. She was assisted in this calling, by her children, Aaron and Sara; and by her friends, Liliana Regino and Ana Estrada, who, later assisted with her own care.
Lynne focused her thoughts on helping others; and prioritized her energies and resources to serve wherever she sensed a need. She had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and served in many callings in the LDS church including compassionate service director, pianist, visiting teacher, and Young Women President. She was an excellent cook, and pursued her interests by reading about nutrition, psychology, gospel topics, and scriptures, and by supporting cultural events, cooking and cleaning for loved ones, and taking walks.
She was preceded in death by her parents, ex-husband Robert Lichfield, and her youngest daughter Diana Lichfield, brothers-in-law, Marvin Lewis and Conrad Nebeker. She is survived by her son, Aaron Rich Lichfield, (DeAnn Gittins ) of North Logan; her daughters, Kathryn Lichfield of Salt Lake City, Emily Lichfield Cannon,( Scott ) of Bountiful, Sara Lichfield of San Diego, California; sisters, Sharon Rich Lewis and Carolyn Nebeker Rasmussen (Marty), and brother, Ed Rich (Lorna); 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
