Lyril Ann Gibbs Pisano

Lyril Ann Gibbs Pisano, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 12, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Lyril was born March 25, 1930 in Boise, Idaho the daughter of Warren Zundel Gibbs and Delfa Ann Fadden Gibbs.  She grew up in and attended school in McCammon, Idaho, graduating from McCammon High School in 1948.  In 1949 she married Roger Johnson, also of McCammon, and five children were born to them.  Following their divorce, she married Carmine John “Mike” Pisano, of Pocatello, Idaho, and they became parents to a son.

She retired from the Union Pacific Railroad in 1991 after 38 years of employment.

Lyril’s first priority was always family, and retirement gave her more time to focus on her children and grandchildren, and then great grandchildren, to whom she was affectionately known as Gigi.  She was actively involved in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and also enjoyed gardening and caring for her two loving cats.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Pisano; her parents; a brother, Don Leroy Gibbs; a granddaughter, Chantel Nichols Fox; and a great grandson, Derek Javin Johnson.  She is survived by a sister, Laura Alice Amini; a brother, Warren Robert Gibbs; her six children: Pat (Dawn) Johnson, of Farmington, Utah; Ann (David) Hedrick, of Sparta, North Carolina; Amy (Jerry) Nichols, of Platte City, Missouri; Alayne (Don) Cobbley, of Afton, Wyoming; Anola Johnson, of Centerville, Utah; Paul (Linda) Pisano, of Bloomington, Indiana; as well as 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at, 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 16, 2018 at the Centerville Brookhurst Ward Chapel, 1294 N. 400 W., Centerville, Utah where friends may visit family from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Norton Cemetery at McCammon, Idaho. Funeral services entrusted to Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary.
