KAYSVILLE a" Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary Helen Boshers Barton Weyland, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012 in St. George, UT. She was born December 24, 1926 in Covington, Tennessee to Charles T. and Nannie B. Boshers. She married Russell A. Barton on February 18, 1945 in Jackson, Mississippi; their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Russell and Helen raised their family in Kaysville. Helen served in many church callings including Relief Society President. Helen loved to cook for her family and enjoyed trying new recipes. She also liked to garden and decorate her new home. Her favorite addictions were Coca Cola and chocolate.
She worked as a telephone operator, at Mildred''s dress shop, ZCMI and at HAFB along with her duties as wife and mother. After Russell''s death in 1977 she married Leonard D. Weyland. Helen and Leonard lived in Kaysville, Layton and then retired to St. George in 1997. Helen and Leonard enjoyed 35 wonderful years together. Helen is survived by her husband Leonard and four children: Barbara Barton, Carol Smith (husband Norman); Ronald Barton (wife Laurel); and Sheila Stettler (husband Ken); 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her sisters: Edith Monaghan and Charlotte "Boots" Saxton.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville Tabernacle, 198 West Center St. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the Tabernacle. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
Helen''s children express their appreciation to Leonard for the many years of loving care that he provided to our mother as her health declined.
