Mabel Clontz Colledge, 88, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Rocky Mountain Care Center.
She was born August 18, 1921 in Ogden, Utah to Sidney and Mary Ellen Clontz.
After graduating from Davis High School, Mabel attended business college. During World War II, she was employed at the hospital at Hill Air Force Base. Following the war, Mabel met Ivor "Joe" Colledge. He won her heart and remained her lifetime soul mate. They married and she continued to work until after the birth of their first daughter, Susan. They had two more daughters, Pat and Jolene.
Mabel was the silent strength of this family. She was always there for her girls, listening to their problems and sharing in the joy of their successes.
Mabel worked in the Sunset City offices until she retired. After retirement, she was the "grandma" everyone dreamed of for her three granddaughters.
She was one of the original members of the Ogden Church of Christ. Mabel quietly provided moral education and strength to her own family and others by leading a Christian life.
Mabel is survived by her three daughters, Susan, Roy; Pat, Chicago, IL; Jolene (Ed) Keller, Idaho Falls, ID; three granddaughters, Jessica Keller, Katlynn Cowper and Kendra Cowper.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, her parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
