Mabel Patterson Marx returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 for a joyous reunion with her husbands, parents, brothers, sisters and children. Mabel was a world traveler and enjoyed journeys to new locations. She packed extremely light for this expedition taking only the hearts and thoughts of those she left behind.
She loved two men in this life, Rex Christensen, who passed away in 1968 and Clinton C. Marx who made the journey in 2001.
She spent her younger years caring for and teaching her children, as well as the children of others, the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She was an example of love and compassion to those who knew her. Together with Clint she served an LDS mission to Missouri. She also taught in capacities in Primary, Sunday School and Young Women''s organizations.
She loved dancing, music, piano and loved to sing and encouraged others to do so. She spent hours researching genealogy and teaching others how to accomplish finding their family trees. She volunteered at the hospital, with church projects, and friends in need.
Her one great passion in life was chocolate in any form. It is rumored that, on occasion, she stashed chocolate cake in her purse for later.
She was preceded in the birth we call death by her husbands, her mother, Dora Davis, father, David Earl Patterson, her "dad", Orson Davis, two brothers, Rex Patterson , Jack Patterson , and two sisters, Helen Dawson and Dora Eldridge..
The hearts she took with her belong to her children, Roy (Diana) Marx, David (Marcia) Christensen, Mary Ann (Chris) Dunn, Carole Saunders, 21 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a granddog, Lily.
