Maida K. Eichorn
OGDEN – Maida Virginia Keirnes Eichorn, 83, died Sunday, June 15, 2008 at McKay-Dee Hospital.
She was born March 14, 1925 in Windsor, Colorado, a daughter of Walter and Grace Agnes Bidel Keirnes.
On July 13, 1946, Maida married Jake Eichorn in Denver, Colorado. Jake preceded her in death on October 24, 1994.
She grew up in Windsor, Colorado until she was 14, then moved to California where she graduated from high school. She returned to Colorado where she and Jake were married. They lived in several different places until 1963 when they settled in Brigham City for 30 years. In 1992, they lived a short time in Tucson, Arizona which they enjoyed very much.
She worked as a clerk in Hy & Mikes Pawn Shop.
Maida was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and volunteered at the Golden Hours Senior Center. She loved spending time with her family and friends in Alpine, Wyoming. Maida loved to play bridge and other card games with grandchildren as long as she won. She was the ultimate Denver Broncos fan. She also loved dancing the Jitterbug, was very independent, creative and crafty.
Surviving are one son and one daughter, Jay Allen Eichorn, Ogden; Jill (Bruce) Parsons, Pleasant View; 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Preceding Maida in death were her parents, husband Jake, one grandson Jay Eichorn, Jr., two sisters and one brother.
Memorial services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd.
Cremation under the direction of Lindquist’s Crematory.
