Makhi A Rowe passed from this earthly life to glory on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 9:22 a.m.  surrounded by his family at just fifteen years of age.  Makhi valiantly put up a good fight for his life for six days at Primary Children's Hospital until our Heavenly Father called him to his eternal home. During these six days we did not leave Makhi’s side; we prayed with him, shared words of encouragement and faith with him and loved him. We will cherish this time with Makhi forever.

Makhi was born on January 29, 2006, at McKay Dee Hospital 9:22 a.m. in Ogden Utah to Kaycee Scott and Chuck Rowe.

At an early age, teachers, spiritual leaders, scout leaders, and others within the community recognized Makhi was someone special. His warm heart and kind smile could pull you in and make you feel like you had known him his whole life even if you only met him once. He always had a way of welcoming friends and strangers with open arms.

In his short life, Makhi took the importance of family and friends seriously.  He deeply valued family and his friendships and felt a deep connection to everyone in his life. If Makhi was not out with his friends driving around, playing basketball, going to Lagoon or just hanging out, he could be found spending time with his family and younger siblings. If he wasn't doing something kind for someone, he wasn't doing anything at all.  Makhi was one to always put others before himself, if you ever met him you would understand this completely.

Precious memories of Makhi and God’s love, mercy and grace will be our source of comfort until we see him again.

Makhi leaves behind many family and friends who love him and will always miss him deeply.  He is survived by his parents, Kaycee and his bonus dad, Ruben Herrera; his bonus mom, Shalyssa and Chuck Rowe; younger sisters, Starr, Arianna and Brinlee and brothers, Loyal, Rookie and Leggend. He is also survived by his grandparents, Cecil Scott, Sherry Johnson, Mary Rush, Chuck Rowe, Pascual Orozco, and Bettina and Johnnie Kamhoot; great-grandparents, Judy and Wilford Scott and Frankie, Susie and Kathleen Gallegos; aunts, Donna Duran, Ashley Scott, Melissa Rush, Brittnay Rowe, Ashley Palmer, Shambree Orozco, Sarriya Hill, Daidree Lee, Andrea Lawrence, Marissa Torres, Jessica Duran, Denise Jones, Christine Jones, and Christine Navarro; his uncles, Kaiden Ohlson, Jerry Duran, Daniel Duran, Jerry Duran Jr, Charles Gomez, James Jennings, Raymond Gurule, Rudy Gurule, Johnny Delefuente, Leon Hendricks, Colby Scott Zane Caballero, Demetrio Navarro, and Christopher Rowe; and his great-great-aunts and uncles and many cousins and friends.

Makhi was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lyle Hendricks and paternal great-grandparents, Betty and Curly Rush; and his paternal cousin, Trey Jones; and his maternal great-grandparents, Ned and Colleen Jones.

Makhi’s parents, grandparents, great-grandparents and siblings extend our very special thanks and deep appreciation to the doctors and staff of Primary Children's Hospital PICU Center in SLC, Utah for your incredible care of Makhi and heartfelt appreciation to all our extended family and many friends for your prayers and support during this very difficult and challenging time. We also wish to thank Ted Anderson of Lindquist’s Oden Mortuary and the Lindquist family for their guidance and support in arranging the funeral services for our beloved Makhi.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Plain City Cemetery, 4425 W 1975 N, Ogden, UT.
