Mamiyo Iseki, 92, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017. Mamiyo was born on February 22, 1925 in Pendleton, Oregon, to Fukuichi and Hideko Nonaka Akimoto.  She graduated from Hunt High School in 1943. Mamiyo was married to Leo Iseki on December 15, 1950.

Mamiyo dedicated her life to her husband and family. Leo and Mamiyo became owners of Utah Noodle Parlor on January 1, 1953 and used their success to support family and friends, as well as give back to the community. Mamiyo was kind hearted, giving, and loved all.

Family would like to send special thanks to Dr. Richard Herold for his longtime dedicated care.

Mamiyo is survived by her brothers, Tomio (Frances) Akimoto and Itsuo Akimoto; sister, Fumi Akimoto; one niece and one nephew whom she raised, Jean (Larry) Peterson and Mark Sakashita; and several nieces, nephews, family, and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Iseki; parents, Fukuichi and Hideko Akimoto; brothers, George (Setsuko) Akimoto, Harding Akimoto, and Tetsuma Akimoto; sister, Peace (Shunji) Koike; and nephew whom she raised, Michael (Sharyl) Sakashita.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Country Pines, The Gardens, and Mt. Ogden for their care of Mamiyo.
