On March 4, 2025, our sweet Mandi left her mortal journey and returned home to her Savior and Father in Heaven. Mandi is loved by so many, and we will all truly and terribly miss our loving wife, mom, daughter, sister, and friend.
Mandi was born in St. George, Utah on February 7, 1996, to two very loving parents, Todd and Jodi Christensen. She immediately blessed their lives and the lives of so many and would continue to do so through the rest of her life. She would be the oldest sibling followed by her three younger brothers who love her so much.
Mandi grew up loving to dance just like her mom and others in her family. She started dancing at the age of 3 and would continue to dance all the way through high school. She danced at Rhythm Works in Syracuse and was part of her High School Drill Team at Clearfield High School as a Falcette. She loved her coaches and those she danced with, especially with her best friend Emma Russell.
After high school Mandi attended Snow College. While there, she received a friend request online from a missionary serving out in Oregon. She accepted thinking he was a missionary serving in her parent’s stake. Once she realized who he was, she took the first step in reaching out through a letter. They would soon be writing to each other every week for the next 11 months talking about the list of adventures they would go on once they were together. They quickly became best friends through the simple letters and emails they would send each other. That missionary would then come home to meet his best friend for the first time and quickly realized they were meant to be eternal companions and God had guided them together.
In September of 2015, that missionary, Jalan Barrow, would proposed to Mandi and they were soon married and sealed for time and eternity in the Ogden Temple in January of 2016.
Mandi and Jalan started their lives together in Kaysville, Utah. There they were able to serve alongside each other as Mandi served in her first Primary Presidency and Jalan as the Ward Mission Leader. They were busy in their lives early in their marriage with callings, and school. Mandi would go on to graduate from Weber State with her bachelor’s degree.
Mandi and Jalan loved each other so much. They enjoyed their time together and loved to travel. Their favorite spot to go was St. George where her family grew up, and where they would visit her grandparents who always have an open door for them to stay.
They would go on to have three beautiful, amazing girls, Jaci, Addi, and Ryli, who would bless their lives more than they could have ever imagined. Mandi loved being a mom and continues to bless her children’s lives from the other side every day.
Mandi worked for a podiatrist clinic for 7+ years, starting as a receptionist and later grew into her impactful role as a billing specialist for the doctors she worked for. She was truly admired for her work ethic, dependability, and her no nonsense approach to things. She was loved by so many she worked with.
Mandi also loved to read. You couldn’t catch Mandi without a library book or her Kindle in her spare time between working and being the loving mother she was.
Mandi is survived by her loving husband, best friend, and eternal companion, Jalan Barrow. Her three beautiful daughters, Jaci, Addi, and Ryli. Her parents, Todd and Jodi Christensen. Her mother and father-in-law, Lori and Todd Barrow. Her three younger brothers, Gage, Hunter, and Wyatt. Her grandparents, Dean and Elaine Christensen, Morris and Ilene Parsons. Her brother and sisters in law Veronica, Ashleigh, Taylor, Courtney, Tyson, and Blake. Her many aunts and uncles, Robyn Christensen, Tammy and Jared Hancock, Travis and Stacie Christensen, Wendy Christensen, and Travis and Beverly Parsons. Along with her many cousins. And her best friend Emma. She is preceded in death by grandparents Joanna and Jim Gunderson, Brent Lemmon, Sharon Barrow, and many more loved ones who have passed on.
Mandi was and forever will be cherished and loved by her family, friends, and the overwhelming community who knew her and had the opportunity to be blessed by her life, love, and service. She will forever be missed until we meet again.
A viewing will be held in honor and celebration of Mandi’s life on Friday, March 7, 2025 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Lindquist’s Syracuse Mortuary, 869 S. 2000 W. Syracuse. With an additional viewing and memorial service at Clearfield 22nd Ward, 151 N. 1000 W. Clearfield on Saturday March 8, 2025, from 9:30 to 10:30AM, followed by funeral services at 11:00AM.
In lieu of flowers, Mandi would want each of us to pick up our favorite book and read it. To pick up your loved ones and let them know how much they are loved and how precious this life is. She loved so many and was loved back even deeper.
We want to thank all of the medical staff at Holy Cross Hospital - Davis, to all the doctors, nurses, and OBGYNs who fought to preserve her precious life. And to Heather Scott, her loving Midwife who had a very special connection to Mandi. To all the NICU nurses and doctors who are continuing to support our little Ryli’s fight here on earth. You have blessed all our lives more than you will ever know.
We also want to thank all those who have shared their support and love in so many ways, from the generous donations, groceries, toys for our little ones, visits, phone calls, texts, meals, and especially prayers. All of it has helped in more ways than you can imagine.
We love you lots, Mandi.
Services will be live-streamed and available the day of service by scrolling to the bottom of Mandi's obituary page, where condolences may also be shared.
