WASHINGTON TERRACE–Manuel Fierro age 96, our loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and friend passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019. He was born on July 31, 1922, to Fred and Jenni Fierro in Fort Collins, Colorado.
He married MaryAnn Harrison on March 16, 1943 in Chadron, Nebraska, they shared 74 years together.
Manuel was a veteran of World War II, US Army Combat Engineers, serving in the European Theater from September 1943 to March 1947.
He worked at Defense Depot Ogden for 34 years retiring in 1975. He volunteered for 16 years at the Washington Terrace Senior Center. He held office in the American Legion and the 40 and 8, an elite branch of the American Legion for 70 years.
Manuel is survived by his four children, Kenneth (Belinda) Fierro, Judy (Kenny) Boren, Gary Fierro, Juanita (John) Hartling; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann; his parents Fred and Jenni; his brother Jessie; and sister Lupe.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
The family would like to thank Dad’s neighbor’s and friends, Dell and Diane Kraaima and Kevin and Marynell Schofield for all the love and support, also Signature Hospice nurse’s and staff, PeachTree Place John and staff for the wonderful love and care.
