LAYTON a€" Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and cousin Manuel D. Martinez, 88, passed away Sunday, July 5, 09.

He was born on February 26, 1921 in Ensenda, New Mexico the son of Patricio and Brigida Velasquez Martinez.

Manuel married Laura Montoya in 1945. She preceded him in death on August 2, 2000.

Manuel served in the U.S. Army and retired from HAFB after 32 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing his guitar and spending time with his family. His grandchildren will always remember grandpa teaching them to hunt and fish.

Surviving are his son Manuel (Emma) Gallegos, daughter Mary (Fred) Delgado, 15 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 41 great-great-grandchildren.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 10, 09 at 9 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 South Chapel Street. Friends and family may call Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Prayer service at 7 p.m.
