Manuel A. Vigil, 80, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013 at his home.
He was born August 30, 1932 in Alamosa, Colorado to Julia Vigil. He served in the US Army during the Korean War.
On November 10, 1951, Manuel married Matilda M. Romero in Taos, New Mexico.
He was a member of the Catholic Church.
He had been employed by Hill AFB, the Industrial Commission of Utah, Southland and Job Service.
Manuel was a member of the VFW and American Legion.
He loved family get-togethers, especially Christmas. He loved playing guitar for family and friends, trips to Wendover, fishing, hunting, camping and vacations.
Manuel is survived by his wife, Matilda; one son, Arthur (Kimberly) Vigil, Syracuse; one daughter, Connie (Tom) Quintana, Clinton; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Lydia Montoya, Viola Armigo, and Bertha (Tom) Salazar.
He was preceded in death by his mother, daughter, Cathy Hague, and sister, Georganna Vigil.
Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, August 1st at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 South Chapel Street, Layton.
Interment, Utah Veteran''s Memorial Park.
Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary.
