Maralyn Kerby Crandall

1937 ~ 2016

On a beautiful day on November 19, 1937, Viva Leavitt Kerby and Charles Marion Kerby were blessed with a beautiful baby girl whom they named Maralyn Kerby.  She was followed by a brother, Charles Marion Kerby Jr. (Marna) and a sister, Pamela Kerby.

She married her eternal sweetheart, Ted W Crandall on June 1, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple and had five, yes five daughters:  Wendy Lee Crandall Jorgensen (Howard), Lesle Ellen Crandall Adams (Scott), Alese Marie Crandall Mortensen (Lane), Teddy Jo Crandall Rogers (Huey), Heidi Sue Crandall Pitkin (Clay).

Maralyn was an original.  She was young at heart and loved to make people laugh.  She faced life with a positive attitude and always put others before herself.  She was adventurous and loved trying new things.  She was a member of the LDS church and served in many positions with wholehearted enthusiasm.

Maralyn died early Christmas morning with the snowflakes falling from heaven like kisses from the angels.

She had 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.  She was a bright spot in our lives and will be sorely missed.  All of our heartfelt thanks go out to all those people who participated in her final hours.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
