Marcello P. Torres
LAYTON a" Marcello P. Torres, beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and best friend has returned to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 1, 2011 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born January 16, 1954 to Antastasia and Eusebio Torres in Palma Pritea Gunanjuato Mexico.
He married his childhood sweetheart Julie December 26, 1970 in Farmington, Utah.
He was a graduate of Layton High School in 1971 and attended Salt Lake Community College where he majored in Mechanics. Marcello had a successful 32 year career as a diesel mechanic and then retired in July 2010 from Yellow Freight.
Marcello has always been a friendly, loving, caring, humorous, compassionate man. "Be kind to everyone you meet, it does matter," were words that he lived by.
He was a loyal member of Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church. He is survived by the love of his life Julie, mother Antastasia, brothers, Eusebio Jr., Antonio, Ernesto, Jose, Phillip, Javier, sisters, Rosalinda, Maria Elena, Minerva, children, Teresa, Marcello Jr., David, Patricia and Jessica, 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father Eusebio and his younger brother George.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 9 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 So. Chapel Street, Layton. Friends may visit family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Prayer service 7 p.m.
Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery. A gathering of friends and family will be held at Granny Annie''s Family Restaurant, 286 No. 400 W., Kaysville 801 544-8817 at Saturday at 12 p.m.
Donations are being accepted at Wells Fargo Marcello P. Torres Memorial Fund Condolences may be shared
