We celebrate the life of Marci eleis O’Toole, who was born on the October 8th, 1972, in Ogden, Utah. She lived a life filled with love, until her death on the August 16th. Marci was a woman of deep faith, who had a heart of gold and loved all those she met. She found the good in everyone and always put others needs above her own. She loved her family and friends unconditionally and accepted everyone as they were.
Marci grew up in a loving home where she learned to care for others and developed lifelong friendships. After graduating from Roy high, Marci moved to Las Vegas, excited to be on her own before moving back to Salt Lake where she attended the U of U and Weber State. She met her husband Tyler and they were married on May 1st 1998 in the Salt Lake Temple then settled in Layton where she raised her two children Tanner and Lauren-Tyler. She loved nothing more than spending time with them and celebrating their successes. She loved her time at the Oregon coast with family and Sunday Dinners that were filled with laughter, teasing, and love.
After leaving her full time job in HR to be home with her kids, her entrepreneurial spirit led her to start multiple businesses including selling floral arrangements in farmers markets and home decor items at Swiss Days. These endeavors led to selling furniture and clothing online which ultimately helped to her grow an online business with her partners who she loved. Marci’s true triumphant spirit showed through when she hurt her back in 2012 that severely limited her to her bed. She took the challenge on as she did with everything else – with determination and positive attitude, never showing others the pain that she endured daily.
Marci lived her faith in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, actively serving in various callings, including Young Women’s leadership roles, various camps, and Activity Days with young primary children. Marci’s faith in Christ never wavered and knew that she was a daughter of God.
Marci is survived by her Family, Tyler O’Toole (Husband), Tanner O’Toole (Son), Tyler O’Toole (Daughter), Dale & Karen Hofmann (Father & Mother) and Greg & Pam O’Toole (Father & Mother in-law). Additionally, she has 2 surviving sisters Sheri Shingler and Kristi Hofmann, Tyler’s Brother & Sisters and their spouses, and several nieces and nephews who loved her and she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her sister Taunia Sanchez.
As we remember Marci, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, joy, and friendship. The family would like to thank the staff at the U of U medical center and the Circle of Life Women’s Center for their excellent care.
