Marcia Anne Vowles Howell Knight was called home on Tuesday April 8, 2025. After a 5-year battle with dementia she passed peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.
Marcia was born in Salt Lake City on January 8, 1945, to Eva and Lynn Vowles. She was the third child. She loved her siblings dearly. She is survived by one amazing big brother, Alan Vowles; and three fantastic sisters, Lyneve (Gary) Schaugaard, Judy (Phil) Yeates, and Marian (Greg) King.
Marcia married her first love Lynn Frank Howell in 1965 and had two small children. When he was called home early, she met the love of her life, her sweetheart, Lynn Knight and they were married in 1973. They have had 52 amazing years together. She married Lynn and his three fantastic teenagers. Together with her two children they created a wonderful life together in Harrisville, Utah. A few short years later they were blessed with glue that bound them all together.
She is survived by her husband, Lynn Knight; her children, Kelly (Lowell) Farr, Kregg (Michelle) Knight, Blake (Rachelle) Knight, Michele (Leon) Clark, Jeff Howell, and Ryan (Justi) Knight. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lynn Frank Howell; her grandsons, JD Farr and Kregg Tyson Knight; her parents, Lynn and Eva Vowels; and her sister-in-law, Margo Vowles.
Marcia served in many different callings for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved to serve others. She served in her community as PTA President, and she was a coordinator over the floats for Harrisville City. She worked diligently in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers organization.
She loved music and had an amazing voice. She sang with the Modritones for many many years. She also had her own little singing group of neighborhood children and grandchildren. She and Lynn loved traveling with family and friends. They created many wonderful memories on their adventures together. She loved to spend her time scrapbooking, quilting, doing family history, and spending time with her family. Marcia showed her love and devotion to family and community by being a public school bus driver for 25 years. She also worked as custodian for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Marcia loved her family. She and Lynn had a great posterity. They had a his, mine, and ours family with six kids combined, two girls and four boys. They have many great sons and daughters-in-laws. They have 23 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the North Ogden 10th Ward Chapel, 787 East 1700 North. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Farmington City 500 South 200 East, Farmington, Utah.
The family would like to thank the medical staff and aides that have shown compassion to Marcia the last few months.
