Marcus J. Rosales

September 23, 1974 ~ April 20, 2016

Our sweet gentle son, brother, nephew and friend, Marcus J. Rosales, went home to his father and mother in Heaven after suffering with congestive heart failure.

He was born September 23, 1974 in Rock Springs, Wyoming the son of Juan and Betty Rosales. He attended and graduated from Rock Springs High School.

Marcus was a gentle giant who loved many things. His teachers and school leaders chose him as a “Natural Leader” because others sought him out for advice. He lettered in swimming and drama. He was a 4-H member and won numerous awards for crafts and livestock. He raised pigs for several years and won Grand and Reserve championships.

He served in the Carlsbad Mission in California and often talked about his companions and experiences there. He was an Eagle Scout and loved the outdoors.

Marcus worked at Hill Air Force Base as a janitor for ten years.

He enjoyed role playing games and all things Star Trek. He especially liked and studied Pixar animated movies. He enjoyed the circus, plays and classical music. He loved his animal companions, Skimmit and Wessley.

Marcus is survived by his parents, Juan and Betty Rosales, his sister, Juliet Rosales Barton, aunts, Kathy Campbell, Carol Brown, brother-in-law, Troy Barton, nephews, Layne and Diego Barton, grandmother Lupita, uncles Joel, Roberto, Ricardo, Jose Luis, Fernando and Israel Rosales, aunts Martha Javiel, Eva Rosales, Mirna Bonilla, Maria Elena Zazueta, Jessica Ayala, and many cousins.

Our family wishes to express love and gratitude to Promise LDS Hospital for their care and concern for Marcus. Also to the many doctors and care givers Marcus had over the years. We send gratitude and thanks to the LDS 18th Ward in Clinton for their kindness and help.

We will miss him greatly and think of him often with love and longing.

The family will meet with friends Friday, April 29, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the mortuary.
