MARDEAN PEARSON THAIN

1936-2018

Mardean Pearson Thain departed this life peacefully and returned back to her Heavenly home with her family gathered at her bedside on July 9, 2018.

Mardean was born April 20, 1936 in Logan, Utah. She was the second of three children born to Howard and Elizabeth Pearson.

Mardean married her high school sweetheart, the love of her life, Melvin Clair Thain. They were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple on October 7, 1955. Together they shared their life with their 26 children.

She was an exceptional woman who lived and embodied the virtues of family, work, charity and faith until the very end. She was deeply loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

Some of her many talents included sewing, gardening, canning and a life of church service. She was always willing to take food to those sick, healing, or grieving.

She left a legacy of courage, integrity and she had an abiding testimony of her Savior.

Mom loved all children. She was a devoted mother and loved to cook for her children.

Mardean is survived by her 26 children, 66 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren, her sister Joan P. Swenson.

She is preceded in death by her sweetheart Melvin Clair Thain, Howard Bartley Pearson (brother) her father Howard and mother Elizabeth Pearson (Smith), Jason Lee Hawes (Grandson) and Karter Yvonne Harris-Thain (Granddaughter.

We would like to express our deepest appreciation to the individuals at the Apple Village Assisted Living Center who graciously cared for Mother. We thank them for their tenderness and kindness.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 13, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Lindquist’ Bountiful Mortuary, 727 North 400 East, Bountiful, where friends may visit family, Thursday, July 12, from 6:00-8:00 P.M and from12:30-1:30 Friday prior to services.

Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.
