Mardona “Dona” Brown

CLEARFIELD - Mardona “Dona” Bone Brown passed away on March 16, 2014.  She was born July 26, 1924 in Kaysville to Edwin and Vivian Bacon Bone.  After graduation from Davis High School, she married Keith Clyde Brown in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on April 28, 1943.  They were married for 65 years.  Keith passed away July 11, 2008.

While Keith served in the war, she lived with his parents and worked at Hill Air Force Base.  When he returned, they settled in Clearfield.

During early married years, they raised four children, played pinochle and square danced with friends.  She was active in the LDS church.

After her youngest child began school, she returned to work in the Travel and Transportation Division at Hill Air Force Base, retiring in 1986, after 24 years of service.

Her interests include traveling, sewing, and crocheting.  She has made many afghans and made sure all her children had one of her handmade porcelain dolls.

She has 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, with 2 on the way.  Her children and their spouses are Wayne (Lawanna) Brown, Riverdale; Marsha (Randy) Bates, Pleasant View; Craig (Jong Mi) Brown, South Hill, VA; and Joyce (Crawford) Cragun, Draper.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
