Margaret Tarran Allen
OGDEN - Margaret Tarran Allen, 89, passed away Monday, February 22, 2010.
She was born September 27, 1920 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Herbert and Edith Tarran.
Margaret married Norman I. Allen on December 20, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Margaret graduated from Ogden High School and Weber College. She trained to become a registered nurse at LDS hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
During World War II, Margaret served in the Navy Nurse Corps. After the war, she attended and graduated from the University of Utah. She worked for 37 years as an R.N. in the nursery at the Dee and McKay-Dee Hospitals.
She is survived by her four children, Gregory (Jean) Allen, Haymarket, VA; Jane (David) Buttars, Roy; Nancy (Fred) Gill, Portland, OR; Robert (Lynne) Allen, Farmington; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Joyce Kalney, Littleton, CO.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and 4 brothers.
Funeral services will be held at the graveside Monday, March 1st at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, where Military Honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
Friends may call at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., Monday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m.
