Margaret L. Crawford

Margaret “Maggie” L. Crawford, 83, our most beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 with family by her side.
Maggie was born February 9, 1934, to William and Laura Farrell in Norfolk, VA. She came to Utah at the age of 14 and went on to attend Weber High School where she met David W. Crawford, whom she later married on July 14, 1951.
First and foremost, Maggie was a devoted wife of 66 years and loving mother to three children. She worked at various jobs throughout her life; her favorites included European Health Spa and ZCMI.
Maggie, along with her husband Dave, raised their children in Roy, Utah and lived there for nearly 60 years. She loved spending quality time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an accomplished oil and watercolor artist, who belonged to the Ogden Palette Club and the Western Art Guild. Her paintings won several awards and are enjoyed in many homes, including family and friends. She wrote beautiful poetry and enjoyed collecting rare and antique dolls. She had many interests, including, boating, water skiing, snow skiing, and snowmobiling. One of her favorites was motorcycle riding through the mountains of Utah. She also enjoyed bowling, golfing and tennis. She enjoyed being involved with the Y-Wives and Hi-Fever Follies. She enjoyed traveling, but also loved planning and hosting gatherings with family and friends. She had a special love of butterflies, birds, and other animals, especially dogs.
Our loving mother and grandmother was caring, kind, forgiving and loved everyone unconditionally. She was intelligent, beautiful and classy. She displayed a quiet strength and confidence throughout her entire life. Maggie influenced the lives of many people, her smile and attitude could brighten anyone’s day. She was loved and respected by everyone she met and will be deeply missed by all.
Maggie is survived by her husband, Dave; her children: Debbie, Craig (Sharri), Mark (Debbie); seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Ruth, Edna, Marie, and Lucille; brother, Billy; and her parents, William and Laura.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. The family will meet with friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
