Margaret E. Hooper
LAYTON a" Margaret E. Hooper, 71, was reunited with the love of her life John, Monday, June 25, 2012, due to complications after heart surgery at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, UT.
She was born July 26, 1940 in Starr, SC; to Charles C. and Margaret N. Gray. She joined the LDS Church in 1961. Shortly after she moved to Alaska, she lived there for 14 years. In 1981 she moved to Utah, and was called to serve the Oklahoma Tulsa mission.
On January 7, 1983, she was sealed to John in the Ogden, Utah Temple. She had a strong testimony for the LDS Church. She had a passion for family history, playing the piano, and loved flowers.
She is survived by her children, Rebecca Hooper, UT; Joy Neimoyer (Jon), UT; four grandchildren, John''s older children, Douglas Hooper (Debbie), AK; John C. Hooper (Nan), AK; Ronald Hooper (Diana), UT; LTC David Hooper (Debra), HI; Vay Stobbe (Lane), UT; Cheryl Solberg (Kurt), AK; Marilee Weight (Kent), AK; 30 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband John B. Hooper and brother Charles Gray.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Richfield City Cemetery at 3 p.m.
