Margaret Cragun Jones

April 30, 1921 ~ March 27, 2017

Our beloved mother, Margaret Cragun Jones, 95, passed away from this life early on Monday morning, March 27, 2017, to join her eternal companion, Leon Berrett Jones.    She was born on April 30, 1921 in Pleasant View, UT to Mormon and Annie Budge Cragun the second youngest of nine children.  She graduated from Weber High School and Weber Beauty School.  She was a lifelong resident of Pleasant View until her last few years.

She married Leon B. Jones on October 17, 1940, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.  Leon passed away on August 6, 2007.

Margaret was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Her many callings included Relief Society, Mutual Improvement Association, and Primary.  She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and served as PTA President several times.

She enjoyed attending the temple and was active in doing temple work; gathering and sharing family history work.

Margaret was a loving mother to seven children who loved her dearly.  She was a living example to them and always there for them, loving them no matter what.

Margaret is survived by her children, Marilyn and Gary Thornley, Layton; Stephen and Alice Jones, Hillsboro, OR; Karen and Wynn Phillips, Pleasant View; Lynnette Burgess, Ogden; Craig and Beth Jones, Ogden; Kathy and Jeff Swaner, Ammon, ID; and Max and Kelle Jones, Layton; 24 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jean Pulsipher.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon; son-in-law, Tom Burgess; four brothers, and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden.
