Margaret (Lusk) Larsen

Margaret (Lusk) Larsen, 95, of Clearfield, passed on to the next part of her journey on February 16, 2021.

She was born May 1, 1925 in Malad, Idaho. She was the 5th of 6 children born to the late Thomas and Marie Lusk. She married Noel Guy Larsen in Malad, Idaho on July 13, 1941 they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They moved to Clearfield about 1946, where she lived the remainder of her life.

She is survived by two sons, Guy Noel Larsen, and his partner William E Rabbitt, of West Point and Ronald Leon Larsen, and his wife Karen (Evans), of Clearfield and is preceded in death by her husband Noel, one daughter, Peggy Sue Larsen, and all her siblings. Her three adopted children have blessed her with 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She is also loved by four generations of nieces and nephews.

She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served, and touched the lives of many young women, as the ward, stake and regional sports and camp director. She and Noel were also active in the Twin Star Riders equestrian posse for many years. They were also active square dancers for years.

She served as room mother as well as president of the PTA supporting each of her children and attended as many games, recitals, parades and graduations of her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren as she could.

Margaret felt her main calling in life was to look after the little ones. She would bring family and strangers alike into her home. An auto accident when she was in her 80's necessitated her giving up the only outside employment she ever loved and that was to serve as a school bus aid on a special needs bus for the Davis County School District. Her gentle and nurturing spirit would assure each child on the bus that “Grandma Margaret” was there and all would be well.

It was said of her, by a neighbor who had known her for years in Clearfield, “If God ever put an angel here on earth, it was your mother”. That seemed to be the opinion of most people who ever had the privilege of knowing her. She loved everyone, especially babies and children. She will be remembered for her hugs, she freely gave them to everyone she met.

Due to Covid restrictions, there will not be a funeral service but there will be a viewing at the Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 N Fairfield Rd, Layton, UT, on Sunday evening, February 21, 2021 from 6 to 8 p.m.  Masks will be required and social distancing will be practiced. She will be interred next to Noel in the Malad City Cemetery on Monday, February, 22, 2021. Dedication of the grave will be at 12:00, noon, that day. Family prayer and dedication of the grave will be given by two of her grandchildren, Adam Brett Larsen and John Kenyon Larsen.
