Margaret “Mickie” Miller
OGDEN – Margaret “Mickie” Carol Collins Norman Miller, 76, entered peacefully into our Savior’s arms on Thursday, December 27, 2007.
Mickie was born in Grace, Idaho on April 12, 1931 and moved to Utah in her youth. She attended Mound Fort Junior High and Ogden High School where she was a cheerleader.
In 1947, Mickie wed Gale Holland Norman of Evanston, Wyoming. Raising five birth children, Kenneth, Galene, Rodney, Terri, and Kurt, they also cared for several non-placed youth. Mickie and Gale were later divorced. On February 29, 1980, Mickie married Larry Miller of Ogden. His two children, Laurie Cheney and Richard Miller, joined the family.
Mickie was a member of the American Legion Post 9 and the VFW Post 1481, where she served as Ladies Auxiliary President of both organizations from 1984 to 1986. She was always active in community events volunteering her time wherever she could.
In her childlike joy, Mickie taught her family how to love, laugh and enjoy life. Mickie valued the freedom of a personal relationship with our Savior Jesus Christ. Mickie was an incredible mother, wife and friend. Her greatest attribute was giving unconditional, non judgmental love to her family, friends and all. She enjoyed hosting social gatherings, baking, nature, camping, fishing, dancing, traveling, loving her cats, and feeding wild birds.
