Margaret Lack Beal Montmorency

1928-2016

Margaret, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on March 21, 2016 surrounded by her loving children.  Born May 17, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Edwin Gamble and Jessie Silcox Gamble.  She was the oldest of two girls. Her sister Doris died at the age of eight.

Mom graduated from Granite High school. She attended the University of Utah and was proud to be a DG (Delta Gamma sorority).  She married Nathan Beal in 1948 and together they were blessed with six children.  They divorced in 1970.  While residing in Bountiful, Mom was very active in her community.  She established the Bountiful Community Concerts and the Pink Ladies at South Davis Hospital.  Mom was a member of the Junior League of SLC and the annual LDS Hospital Quilt Show board.  She was active in politics, served as Honorary Sergeant at Arms, and managed campaigns for local and national candidates.  She somehow found time to coach her daughters’ softball team.  She held many callings in the LDS church. Her favorite was the Blazers. She always called them “her boys”.

In 1979, she married Frederick Montmorency, and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.  Mom and Fred enjoyed many blissful years together traveling the world until his untimely death in November 2007.

Margaret is survived by her children; Sharri (Craig) Rosvall, Tina (Paul) Rothe, Lisa (Mike) Royall,  Lauren (Glen) Burningham, Jeff (Karen) Beal, and Stephanie (Brent) Blaisdell;  27 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren.

We would like to thank the staff at Fairfield Village of Layton for the tender, loving acts of kindness shown to our mother as she resided there.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 28, 10:00 a.m. at the Bountiful 14th Ward, 1500 S. 600 E. A viewing will be held Sunday evening March 27, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N 400 E. and Monday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the church prior to the service.  Interment will take place at Lakeview Memorial Cemetery in Bountiful.  Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com
