Margaret Ilene VanZant Nelson

FARR WEST a€" Margaret Ilene Van Zant Nelson, 80, passed away Monday, November 21, 2011.

She was born March 14, 1931 in Denver, Colorado the daughter of Clifford A. and Helen E. Randall Van Zant.

She graduated from Davis High School.

Margaret married Gary Schroader in 1949. Together they had six children and later divorced. She married John Nelson on September 16, 1978 in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple on January 31, 1998.

She was a faithful member of the LDS Church and enjoyed attending church meeting with John and friends.

Margaret knitted over 1000 pair of infant booties for new mothers and crocheted bandages for the Humanitarian center for many years.

Surviving are her three sons, James Schroader, David Schroader, Timothy Schroader, three daughters, Analee McCain, Jadelynn Tyner, Merridee Schroeder, step-son, John Nelson, two step-daughters, Shila Weese, Alicia Murphy, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and sister Helen Ripples Berger.

Preceded in death by her husband John, parents, and infant sister.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family on Saturday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.

Margaret wishes to thank all her good friends and neighbors for all the kind care and visits over the years.
