Margaret Delores Stoker Peterson
October 8, 1929 ~ Ju;ly 5, 2015
Our beloved Mother and Grandmother returned to her Heavenly Father on July 5, 2015 after a valiant fight with Leukemia. Mother never complained, maintaining a brave and cheerful outlook. She taught us how to live and how to die with great dignity.
Mom was born in Burch Creek, Utah on October 8, 1929 to Zearl and Ellen Stoker.
She married Billie Fred “Pete” Peterson on April 23, 1948, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple and from that marriage had five sons. They later divorced. She sacrificed to ensure her sons had what they needed.
During her life she resided in Uintah, Layton, Clinton, North Ogden, Riverdale and Roy.
In Roy, she was a member of the Rose Wood Ward. Mom loved the Gospel and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mother served in many callings but loved her time in the Primary the most. Her deep and abiding faith and belief in prayer gave us all strength as her time on this Earth came to an end. Mom taught us by example that giving of yourself will bring many blessings.
Her grandchildren will remember the service for others that she rendered every day even when she was in need.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents Zearl and Ellen Stoker and her siblings Edna, Bernice, Grant, LaMonte and Dean.
Mom is survived by her sons Billie Duane (Jodie), Clinton; Dale (Ilene), and Darwin (Wendy), St. George; Drew (Lisa), Versailles, KY; and Darren (Julie), No. Ogden. Mom was very proud of her 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson and 1 on the way. Her visits with the grandchildren became the highlight of her life.
Her family would like to thank Dr. Carl R Gray, Jan Davis and Mary, as well as the entire team at Utah Hematology Oncology.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday July 11th, 2015 at West Weber Cemetery, 4500 West 1000 North.
