Margaret Reeves
KAYSVILLE – Margaret Lillian Gent Reeves, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, sister returned home on Saturday, December 5, 2009 after a short battle with cancer.
Margaret was born on March 8, 1934 to George and Margaret Gent in Leicester, Leicestershire, England.
She lived thirteen years in England before immigrating with her parents to Bothwell, Utah.
Margaret met and married Blaine Reeves in the Logan LDS Temple on June 8, 1951. He passed away on December 18, 2000. They lived most of their 50 years together in Brigham City, Utah. She suffered a stroke in 2000, after which they both moved to Kaysville, Utah to be closer to their family.
Margaret was a Master Gardener for nearly 50 years and loved her vegetable and flower gardens, spending many hours there especially in the most recent years. She loved going to the Autumn Glow Senior Center in Kaysville. Even after her stroke, she kept busy with crafts and always paid special attention to details. She was proud of her many blue ribbons she won from her handmade items. She loved to travel and just go for rides to see the nature around her.
Margaret was a member of the LDS church where she served faithfully for many years in the Relief Society and Primary, particularly 23 years in the nursery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Blaine, one son, Jack and one daughter, Rosalie Joy, her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by three sons, Leonard Reeves, Garland, Utah; Brian and Kym Reeves, Lebanon, Oregon; Malcolm and Cindy Reeves, Stansbury Park, Utah; one daughter, Stephanie and Bruce Pimper, Kaysville, Utah; two daughters-in-law, Ute Reeves, Farmington, Utah; Julie Reeves, Brigham City, Utah; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, one brother, Derek Gent, Salt Lake City, Utah; one sister, Nora Morris, West Jordan, Utah.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 11, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Columbia Heights LDS Ward, Gardens Chapel, 9 West 550 South, Kaysville, Utah. Friends and family may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main, Kaysville, Utah and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Brigham City Cemetery, Brigham City, Utah.
