Margaret C. Wood Rogers
Margaret C. Wood Rogers "The Best Grandma Ever" age 80, passed away Monday, May 27, 2013.
She was born December 9, 1932 to Melissa and Charles A. Wood in Cedar Hill, New Mexico. After graduating from Davis High she met her husband, Carlton Rogers, with his Boston accent at Hill AFB. They were married February 14, 1952 in the Clearfield Community Church. After joining the LDS church they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.
Upon retiring from Hill, Maggie was always willing to give of her time to her community and church. She volunteered as a "pink lady" at the Davis Hospital, assisted elementary reading programs and served as Relief Society President. Along with her husband she flew many sorties for the Civil Air Patrol searching for downed aircraft. If she wasn''t volunteering she was camping with her family in the "High Uintah''s." We have many stories to remember around the camp fire and will truly miss her.
Maggie is survived by her brother "Woody," two daughters, Jodie (Emery), Diane (Paul), three granddaughters, Brooke, Melissa, Krystal and four great grandchildren, Talon, Kyler, Baylee, and GiGi whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son Kenneth.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Clearfield City Cemetery, 1050 South State Street. Friends and family may call from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
The family would like to thank Dr. Burtenshaw and the extraordinary people at Caregiver Support Network.
