Margaret “Marge” J. Rush

Marge J. Rush peacefully passed away, Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at her home in Clinton, Utah, at the age of 90.

Marge was born March 10, 1927 in Glenwood Springs, Colorado to Leo V. Jolley and Anna I. Davis. Marge spent her growing years in Colorado; Hines, Oregon; and Provo, Utah.

After graduating from Provo High School with honors in 1945, Marge moved to the Ogden area and went to work at the Naval Supply Depot in Clearfield, Utah. While working there, she met her husband, Robert C. Rush in 1947. They were married June 19, 1948 in Ogden, Utah and were later sealed in the Ogden Utah LDS Temple. Bob passed away March 10, 2001.

Marge was an active member of the LDS church, a Girl Scout leader, past president of the Clearfield American Legion Auxiliary and a volunteer at the Veteran’s Hospital in Salt Lake City. She also enjoyed sewing for her girls, bowling, playing cards, working in her garden and camping with family and friends.

During their married life, Bob and Marge lived in Ogden, Sunset, Fort Worth, TX, and Clearfield, UT.

Marge retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1987.

She is survived by two daughters: Leeanne (Joel) Wallace, Central Point, OR; Maylinn (Norris) Watkins, Hooper; six grandchildren: Clinton (Kari)Wallace, Colbert, WA; Joshua (Shawna) Wallace, Medford, OR; Joelle (Todd) Fryer, Medford, OR; Spring (Mark) Jensen, Hooper; Cassandra (Jesse) Hansen, Beavercreek, OH; Levi (Diana) Watkins, Ogden; and 19 great-grandchildren.

The family wants to thank all those who watched over Marge; her neighbors in Clearfield, her friends and caregivers at Country Pines, Envision Hospice Care and especially her daughter, Maylinn, whose constant care was a blessing to us all.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Clearfield 12th Ward Chapel, 151 North 1000 West. The family will meet with friends on Friday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.

Marge used to say, “Laughing is what keeps me alive.” To honor her and in lieu of flowers, we ask that you gather with friends or family and spend the day in laughter.
